Tamiya Fiat 500F 1/24. Part 2 - Suspension

This post will be very short describing the manufacturing of the springs. Looking at the springs from the kit I had no doubts that they must go out. I'd better to scratch something by my own. They will be anyway better than the default ones.

I started to research how the real suspension of classic Fiat 500F looks like. It is quite simple actually. Arm, shock and spring. The arms from the kit are good and look similar to the prototype. So I will use them. But shocks and springs I'll have to make.

For making the spring I took a metal wire about 0.5 mm thick and twisted it with the diameter about 3 mm.
For stock I cut a piece from 0.8 mm thick clip.
For shock I used 1.1 mm brass tube.
And as a base I used my laser cutter (or laser engraver) machine and 0.15 mm stainless steel sheet.
Here you cansee all the produced parts

Here the final assembled result in comprison with the default parts and test fitment to the body and arms. Finally I painted them semi-gloss black which will be shown later in this blog.
Stay tuned!
